Before the winter break, Bellamy Librarian, Sarah Keesler had her second and third graders work on researching animals using PebbleGo*. “The students learned how to take notes and use the information they found to decide what animal would make a good pet for the library,” she said. Keesler said that two years ago they got a hermit crab in the library as part of the ‘One School One Book’ month. Unfortunately, the hermit crabs recently passed away. She asked the kids to learn about an animal that interested them and then they had to decide if that animal would be a good pet for the library or not. “They did such a wonderful job that I hosted a Google meet with Kathleen McGill from the Utica Zoo on February 23 and February 25,” she said.  McGill showed students three different animals, a snake, opossum and an owl.
