Helping Your Children
HELPING YOUR CHILDREN
Join the parent group at your child’s school. This is not just for parents of young children, but also at Staley, Strough and RFA.
Read to your child. As your child grows, let her/him see you reading. Make sure your child has a library card.
Visit your child’s school. You are welcome and encouraged to visit school during the school day. Please call ahead for arrangements. Attend the school’s Open House or Parent Night in the fall.
If your child must take medication during school hours, the school nurse will be happy to work with you and the physician. A written request from both the parent and the physician is required. The medication cannot be carried to school by the child.
Be sure your child has very good attendance.
Apply for free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Many families are eligible. For example, a family of three with an income up to $715 per week is eligible. Look for the insert in this calendar or call your child’s school or
the district’s school lunch office at 338-6555.
